Knight of Coins
Do you see the dutiful knight or soldier who obeys his commanding officer daily? He is the one chosen for the special mission.
Do you see the hard-working farmer faithful to return to the field say after day? He is the first to taste of the crops.
The faithful servants in the parable invested their talents of gold, putting them into practice and practical purposes. They were rewarded--as were the bridesmaids who kept oil in their lamps in anticipation of the coming of the bridegroom.
If you are faithful in small things, you will be trusted and rewarded with larger ones. Do not despise the day of small beginnings.
Many quest for treasure, but few look under every rock and in every cave like this practical, hardworking knight. He's going the distance!
He holds the reward, but he does not look at it. He holds it loosely.
As Paul said, "Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
