Nine of Cups
The master of the feast sits in front of a blue-draped table which is laden with cups of wine, brightness all around. Like the figure of the Four of Cups card, his arms are folded in satisfaction, but unlike that figure, he smiles as though fulfilled and ready to share.
Perhaps this is a harvest festival foreshadowing the jubilee at the end of the age, or perhaps this is a wedding feast reflecting the Wedding Supper of the Lamb.
He shares his achievements and abundance, welcoming not just friends and family who can repay him, but also the poor and homeless outcasts and those who can never reward him.
He knows that it is even more blessed to give than to receive, and calls out, "Drinks on the house!"
Come to the table that he has prepared for you!
Come to the feast of heaven and earth!
