The Devil
Whether at a cosmic level, a side-effect of society, or as a part of individuals, evil can be a force to be reckoned with. Nationalistic fervor, institutionalized injustice, or personal pride and prejudice can go out of control and cause loss, death, and destruction.
Temptation: "Eat this stolen fruit which will fill your tummy, sweeten your tongue, and stroke your ego. You surely won't suffer consequences."
Addiction: "Go ahead and have that first drink, take that second look, enjoy that third helping. The pleasure goes away, but the longing will stay."
Lies:
"It's okay for you to cheat."
"You will never be free."
"You will never be loved."
"Go ahead and nurture that anger and bitterness."
"Abandon hope all ye who enter here."
