The Magician
Joseph and Daniel interpreted dreams and had favor with their kings, being ranked above the wise men and magicians of the courts.
Moses raised his staff in the power of the LORD, bringing plagues and parting the sea, yet the court magicians could only duplicate his first two feats by their dark arts.
The magi from the east followed the star to a new and greater light.
Likewise, the least in the renewed kingdom of heaven is greater than the greatest prophet of old. About this kingdom, the prophets said that young and old would dream dreams and see visions. They are clothed with power from on high, filled with wisdom and the Holy Spirit to bring God's light into the world.
Jesus said that we are no longer called servants but friends (co-heirs, co-creators), initiated into the powers of the kingdom, coming of age with rights as first born sons--whether male or female, Gentile or Jewish, slave or free. With spirits seated with Christ in the heavenly places, we walk in his Spirit on earth. Standing upon the earth, we partake of things above.
Humans were made "a little lower than the angels," and God said, "I have called you gods" to those who received his words. But now he has raised up and anointed a kingdom of prophets, priests, and kings.
Adam and Eve once walked with God and ruled in the garden, but trading spiritual life for esoteric knowledge--as represented by the tree of life and the tree of knowledge, they lost paradise. In Christ, paradise has been regained, so we can die to the elemental principles of this world and be raised with Christ to seek things above.
